ICON OF ST. JOHN VIANNEY:  2009 has been named by Pope Benedict XVI as the Year of the Priest and St. John Vianney has been named as Patron Saint of all Priests.  This year is the 150th anniversary of his death.  To mark this anniversary, an icon of St. John Vianney was commissioned for the chapel of the Diocesan Seminary in Auckland.  This icon is currently being taken on pilgrimage throughout NZ and will arrive at St Philomena on Jan 1st.  As this is holiday time, we realise that many people may be away.  We will do our best to inform you of more details nearer to the time.  For the hours that the icon is in our church, people will be welcome to come and pray.  It will move to St Joseph's Church on Jan 2nd.
