CUP OF TEA: after Mass next Sunday (June 7th) will be served by the Morris Family Group.

CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES: We acknowledge the presence today of young people who are involved in the Confirmation programme for the North Taranaki area. We ask for your prayers for them and their families.

ST PHILOMENA’S DISCUSSION GROUPS: We have two Discussion Groups who meet in the school staff room; one meets in the afternoon and one in the evening. We pray for the parish, our school and all the intentions in the Petition Box (which is in front of St Philomena’s statue). There is still room for more petitions.

Afternoon Group: meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 1.30-2.30pm. WE pray for the parish The next meeting is Thurs 11th June. Contact Ian McGill 753 3513. Evening Group: meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 7.30pm-8.30pm. The next meeting is Thurs 4th June. Contact Trevor Carter 752 2778.

ST PHILOMENA’S PRAYER GROUP: This group has operated for some years, originally on a day when Mass was celebrated. It now seems certain we will have Wednesday Mass and in an effort to increase our Prayer Group numbers, the group will now meet on Wednesday after 9.00am Mass. Please join with us on this day.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL: Any good quality used clothing you have to spare would be most welcome at the St Vincent de Paul Opportunity Shop in the Fitzroy shopping arcade, New Plymouth. Our stocks are running low and if we are to continue to provide the services funded through the shop, your support is essential. MULTI-CULTURAL LITURGY SERVICE: Multi-Cultural Liturgy 19th June 7:00 at St Joseph's, New Plymouth. MID WINTER RETREAT: With Fr John O’Connor 5:15 - 9 pm, 24th June St Joseph’s (downstairs). In our Life of Faith there is ONE true spirituality (to God through Jesus in the Holy Spirit). Yet there are as many ‘spiritualities’ as there are people. Fr John O'Connor will lead this evening session helping us to appreciate anew the communal nature of our journey and the beauty of the individual created in the image of God. Fr John O’Connor is a Catholic priest of the Diocese of Christchurch. He is Parish Priest of Our Lady of Victories. John specializes in spiritual direction and retreat direction and leads seminars in spiritual formation.
