Two parishioners recently celebrated milestones. Jopie and John Half celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in August at the New Plymouth Bowling Club. They were married in the old St Joseph’s church on 24 August 1957. What a happy occasion it was. Two of their three sons, with their families, attended while their daughter, Patricia, and her three daughters travelled from Holland to be present. Some of our older parishioners will remember Gary, Lawrence and Roger attending St Pius X and John and Jopie’s unstinting support of the school at that time. Best wishes to John and Jopie. Teresa Hanover celebrated her 90th birthday on October 24th. Her family organised a luncheon at the Nice Hotel which was thoroughly enjoyed by all those family members who had gathered to celebrate Teresa’s special birthday. Following the luncheon there was an Open Day held at Teresa’s home which was catered by her family. The many guests included relations, school friends and members of the Dombroski Family Group. After being a widow of 14-15 years, Teresa may have been a little overwhelmed by the numbers in attendance! May you have many more happy birthdays Teresa.
