This year, with a view to replacing ourselves, we have embarked on a mission to seek out those younger members of our community who may be willing to volunteer their services to all ministries to ensure the longevity of our parish. Colin Fromont  is the most recent member of the Finance & Administration  committee, replacing Brendan O’Neill and joins Jacqueline Cox as part of our commitment to replacing ourselves.

Over 50 families and individuals currently voluntarily support  various parish ministries.

On 2 December we celebrate a pot luck lunch after Mass and this event will be  used to detail the various tasks that volunteers currently deal with and ascertain what level of support we are likely to enlist for the future.

As always we work closely with St Pius X school, the seed corm of our parish and are  delighted to see the school making more use of the church, with Monday prayers and Friday assembly. Right now the school have an additional teacher, but because of financial restraints are unable to fully utilize this valuable person. The Meeting Room will now house the school library which will give the school – with some minor building alterations – an additional classroom with minimal costs and achieve full use of all teaching staff. The Children’s Liturgy will still be held in the Meeting Room.

The change to the BANKLINK accounting system has for this year stopped any meaningful comparison of Profit & Loss accounts.

However as a cash in – cash out enterprise, the List of Account Balances shows our financial position.

Next year the church and parish house will be repainted. Internal furnishings to the parish house have recently been replaced.

As always, feel free to put your ideas and thought to us at any time

Barry Fabish

Chairman.
