Principal Lorraine Gordon was farewelled at a Mass which was attended by students and ex-students of St Pius X, parishioners, other Catholic principals and representatives from the Palmerston North Diocese. The St Pius students sang beautifully, Father Earl Crotty congratulated Lorraine on her 12 years of excellent leadership at the school and newly appointed Principal Trish Walsh thanked her on behalf of the staff.

Students from Francis Douglas Memorial College performed a rousing haka as Lorraine left the church. Lorraine’s evening farewell at Tukapa Rugby Club rooms that evening was also well-attended; a fitting tribute to Lorraine’s commitment to the community of St Philomena’s Parish.
